About Sandustry

A factory sandbox where materials are the machinery.

Sandustry centers on a fully destructible open world and production systems built from moving, heating, cooling, separating, and transforming materials. A useful manual therefore has to connect world navigation, material states, machines, and failure recovery.

This site leads with current terminology and direct answers. Facts that can change by version, platform, or subscription are dated, and competitor-derived research is never presented as primary evidence.

Beginner Guide

Begin by learning the Minimap, stabilizing one simple Gold chain, and researching only what removes the next bottleneck. Keep inputs and outputs visible, leave room around machines, and treat exploration as a way to find Artifacts and Augments after the first production loop works.

Game Pass Status

As checked on August 16, 2026, the Xbox product page listed Sandustry for PC and included it with Game Pass Ultimate. This is a dated catalog snapshot, not a permanent entitlement, and it does not by itself confirm an Xbox console release.

Map & World Guide

Sandustry is presented as one large, fully destructible open-world sandbox, and the current beginner guidance confirms an in-game Minimap. Use the Minimap, objectives, and recognizable factory landmarks; do not assume that community biome names, seeds, or secret-location lists are official fixed map data.

Artifacts & Puzzles

Artifacts are scattered through Sandustry's world and grant Augments. Search by exploring deliberately with the Minimap and enough tools to investigate structures, but expect some ancient puzzles to require equipment or resources you have not obtained yet; mark them and return later.

Water

Water is a current Sandustry liquid used in the Wet Sand, Wet Seed, and Steam chains. Build a visible, controllable Water path, keep unrelated materials out of it, and diagnose problems by checking source, transport, destination capacity, and temperature in that order.

Lava

Lava is a current liquid entity, while Scoria and Cinder are also present in the current material index. The official guidance describes freezing Lava for solid transport and heating it again later, so design the route around controlled phase changes instead of moving exposed liquid across the whole factory.

Evidence policy

Current facts, visible limits.

  • Official game, storefront, and publisher sources decide current names and feature status.
  • Community material helps identify player questions but does not override current first-party evidence.
  • Game Pass, mods, multiplayer, recipes, controls, and Early Access mechanics are checked again before publication.
  • No fixed artifact coordinates or unverified machine controls are invented to fill a search query.

Quick orientation

What this manual can safely answer

Use the launch batch for the current foundation. Planned pages remain visible locally for review but stay out of the first sitemap until their release scope is approved.

Is this the official Sandustry wiki?

No. It is an independent manual that links official sources and labels evidence limits.

Are exact ratios always current?

No. Early Access mechanics can change. The guide states only values supported by the checked sources and records the review date.

Why are some guides marked planned?

They have validated research but are outside the approved first-release batch, so they remain noindex and outside the sitemap.
